Tara Bray, AIA

ARCHITECT | Director of Environmental + Social Impact

Tara believes that architecture has the power to improve people’s lives and deeply influence our world for the better. As the Director of Environmental + Social Impact at modus studio, Tara leads our firm-wide strategies and action in making our community and our planet a better place.

Throughout her career, she has been on a mission to weave empathy into the fabric of our built environment. Tara received her Master of Architecture degree from Kansas State University, where she began her in-depth research at the intersection of sustainability and wellness. Her track record of fostering meaningful connections and implementing systems for long-term success led her to a role managing projects across the Midwest. As a trauma-informed architect specializing in DEI-focused community engagement, her expertise lies in creating spaces that not only thrive environmentally, but promote the health and well-being of those who inhabit them.

Tara is an active advocate for housing policy at the state level and fundamentally believes that all people deserve access to sustainable, safe and affordable housing. In her free time, you can find her spending time outside or making things like ceramics, candles, music and art.
