Tara Bray, AIA

ARCHITECT

Tara believes that architecture has the power to improve people’s lives and deeply influence our world for the better. Her acuminous research on the psychology of architectural space allows her to design with a sensitivity aimed at the long-term wellness of people and places.


Originally from St. Louis, Tara’s roots as an artist and jazz musician inspired her to pursue a Master of Architecture degree from Kansas State University. Upon graduation, Tara moved to Kansas City, where she began her career working on a wide range of community, educational, civic and residential projects. It was during this time that Tara refined her skillset in designing human-centered, site-specific architecture that encourages people to gather and connect. Tara’s passion for human wellness and environmental stewardship led her to a role managing projects in the Kansas City region.


In her free time, Tara enjoys hiking in the woods, climbing and finding fossils. After taking many weekend trips to the Ozark Mountains, she decided to relocate to Northwest Arkansas and is now a critical member of the modus studio team.


Tara is creative, organized and precise, allowing her to address tough problems with thoughtful solutions.
